Early voting begins

The city of Ennis and Ennis ISD are preparing for the May 8 joint election, but both entities are hoping voters come out for early voting, which begins Monday.
For the city, early voting will be held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. this Monday-Friday and May 3-4 at City Hall, located at 115 W. Brown St. There will be two extended voting days, Tuesday and May 4. The polls will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on those days.

On Election Day — May 8 — polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. There are two polling locations for the city election. Residents of Ward 1 will vote at Travis Elementary School, and residents of Ward 3 will vote at Austin Elementary School. Only residents of wards 1 and 3 will be able to vote in this election.
