Movement underway to resurrect youth football

If Ennis is a football town, shouldn’t it boast a youth league in the sport that everyone can be proud of?
That question seems to have an obvious answer, which is why a couple of local men are so motivated to make it a reality. The Ennis Youth Football League (EYFL) is no more. The organization — now known as the Ennis Youth Football Association (EYFA) — is led by president Anthony Lawrence and vice president Rick Nelson. A contract for the EYFA was completed last Saturday, which includes a partnership with USA Football — the official youth football development partner of the NFL.

Lawrence used to be the president of the EYFL before he stepped down to focus on coaching in the league. During that time, the league lost momentum and he decided something had to change.
