EPD connects group to area burglaries

Ennis police have charged a group of Blinn College students with burglary after an investigation and car chase Monday.
Det. Sgt. Mike Hopson, Ennis police spokesman, said the episode began with a call from the Ennis Inn motel, where management reported a group of guests in Room 205 had missed check out time and wouldn’t leave. Officer Chad Bolton and Sgt. Joe Sifuentes met with motel management and headed to the room, where they were met by Ashley Ferry, a 19-year-old woman, standing outside.

Her reaction aroused their suspicion.

“When they were getting out of the car to talk to her, she said ‘Are you here for me?’ ” Hopson said.
