Corsicana Y fights childhood obesity

orsicana’s YMCA will add a Healthy Kids Camp program this summer aimed at combating one of the nation’s fastest growing epidemics – childhood obesity.
Thomas Burns, sports director for the Corsicana Y, spoke to members of the Ennis Noon Lions Club Wednesday about the importance of being active at all ages.

“They learn about leading a healthy lifestyle,” Burns said. “As you know, a lot of kids are obese … that speaks to me because I’m an advocate (against) childhood obesity and solving that problem.”
