‘K-2’ ban clears 1st vote

Ennis’ commissioners OK’d a ban on the synthetic marijuana doppelganger “K-2” on first reading Monday.
The commission’s action comes two weeks after concerns about the substance came to light at the group’s first meeting of August. Chief John Erisman came before commissioners then with concerns about five stores in town that were selling the substance, and that number has since shrunk to a lone establishment.

Erisman said K-2’s availability has started to fall off in the Metroplex as a number of municipalities begin to consider or pass bans. Vendors around the region have already begun trying to sell their supplies of the substance back to the distributor at a loss, he said.
