Police: Fake satellite dish installer scams residents

Ennis police say a scam artist is stealing residents’ credit information through phony satellite installations.
Ennis Police Department Lt. Ron Roark said there have been several reports in the last few days of a man with a medium build and salt-and-pepper hair identifying himself as only “Tom” who has been posing as a satellite dish installer with Dish Network.

“He’s driving an SUV, although the victims haven’t been able to say what color, and going from house to house offering service,” Roark said. “People give him their credit card information to open an account, but they never get service.”
