Lady Lions conquer Corsicana in season finale

It certainly wasn’t easy, but the Lady Lions did what was necessary to finish off their 2010 season with a victory.
Ennis (8-9, 8-8) suffered a convincing loss in game one only to win in five: 12-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-20, and 15-7.

“It was the last match of the season and both teams wanted to go out with a bang,” said coach Kim Vernor. “We’ve always had a strong rivalry with Corsicana and the fan turnout was good.”

“Going to that fifth game was fun, but it’s also a lot of pressure because you don’t want to lose when you’ve worked so hard to get there,” said standout Allie Rokas after completing her Lady Lion career. “This a good rivalry. It felt like the district championship with how loud the fans for both teams were.”
