County bonds could have local benefits

The decision of no action was a popular one during Monday evening’s Ellis County Commissioners’ Court meeting, and commissioners are set to reconsider a bond allocation in a special meeting Friday.
Topics including whether to waive, issue or reallocate the county’s portion of the Recovery Zone Economic Development Bonds and the Recovery Zone Facility Bonds are waiting for a final say from the court.

According to County Auditor Mike Navarro, the county received a letter from the Texas Bond Review Board on Oct. 18 with a deadline of Oct. 29 for the county’s response.
