Man: Ennis police used too much force
An Ennis man says local police went overboard while searching him after his arrest last week.
Christopher Soliz, 27, said officers used unnecessary force against him while booking him for public intoxication Wednesday afternoon. The Ennis Police Department chief said Soliz failed to comply during a pocket search in municipal jail, justifying Officer Curtis Farmer’s use of force.
“I would say that the level of force was justified,” Chief John Erisman said. “Now, there’s other ways it could have been handled, also.”
