Parade entries swell

Preparation for the Christmas parade is gearing up now that the number of parade participants is set.
Monday saw the last day to sign up for participation in the parade, after the previous Nov. 17 deadline was extended.

Mary Macalik, executive secretary for the Ennis Chamber of Commerce, said the parade would boast around 60 participants for viewers to enjoy. Among those cruising down Ennis Avenue next week will be a replica of the General Lee, a Dodge Charger that is widely recognizable as a result of the fame it garnered on the popular TV series The Dukes of Hazzard. Also set to appear in the parade, the Dodge Monaco police car driven by the show’s antagonist “Roscoe.”
