Our voices should be heard

If you’re not the get-involved type, preferring instead to live quietly outside of the hustle and bustle of the public spotlight, there’s a way you can help the city that we hope will make an impact.
In the coming weeks, as area officials prepare for a tough sell to the Texas Legislature, we as individual members of the community should take it upon ourselves to throw support behind a project that is key to the future of our area.

Developing the U.S. 287 corridor through Texas has been an ongoing effort that is extremely important for communities all the way along its many miles of road, but Ennis is being left in the lurch without state support to finish the last 3 miles left in all of Texas.
This is unacceptable.

We should add our voices to those of the representatives of the city of Ennis and the Ennis Chamber of Commerce by way of a letter writing campaign.

Our elected officials need to know that this project is of extreme importance to us as a community and that we will not sit by while TxDOT and the state of Texas overlook us — even if finances are tight. The game can’t change once it comes time to help Ennis. That’s not right.
