Lion tennis ready to spring into action

The members of Lion tennis loved every minute of their team tennis district title run in the fall, but it’s time to get back to business.
Ennis officially begins the spring season today with the JV Polarbear Tournament, as the varsity Polarbear Tournament serves up on Friday at the Lion Tennis Center. In the spring, of course, individual players and doubles teams advance out of district as opposed to an entire tennis team.

“The kids are excited about winning team tennis district and they’ve put in a lot of practice over the holidays,” said coach Keith Howard. “They realize now that we can’t say we’re not the district favorite anymore and now the target is on our back. The kids are as fired up as they’ve been in a long time.”
