‘Wellness in Texas’ Master Volunteers complete program

“Wellness in Texas” is an educational campaign with Texas Cooperative Extension.
The mission of Texas Cooperative Extension is to provide quality, relevant outreach education and services to the people in Texas. Volunteers are critical to the success in fulfilling the mission of Texas Cooperative Extension. The educational components of Wellness in Texas provide participants with information on making healthy lifestyle choices, and they will get the message out to the county.
Participants in the Wellness in Texas Volunteer Program received 40 hours of education. Training focused on up-to-date, research-based information in the area of health and nutrition. Participants will give back 40 hours of volunteer service to the Wellness in Texas program.
The training classes focused on: basic nutrition, food safety, trends in health and nutrition, weight management and public speaking.
Volunteers are currently returning their volunteer hours. When the 40 hours of service is complete, the volunteer will become a Wellness in Texas Master Volunteer.
Individuals completing the Wellness in Texas Master Volunteer program from Ellis and Navarro counties include: Linda DeFrank, Jane Vineyard, Sylvia Borrin, Rachel Craig, John Goodnight, Lauren Craig, Pat Dickson, Colleen Eagle and Keri Kartheiser.
Rita M. Hodges is the County Extension Agent-Family & Consumer Sciences.
