Kernow Storm holding open soccer tryouts
The Ennis-based Kernow Storm select soccer club is looking to build some new teams. The club has one final open practice this Friday from 6:30-8:15 p.m. and everyone is welcome. It is located on Oak Grove Road at the Schirm Building soccer complex.
Specific club teams with openings include the ’95 boys team and any boy age 11-13 is eligible. Club director Antony Penna said the ’95 boys are the best U13 team in Ellis County and one of the top 30 teams in North Texas. The ’95 girls team has spots any girl age 11-13 can tryout for.
The ’94 boys team has openings and Penna said it’s a strong new squad that has attracted players from some of the best teams in Dallas. Any players 14 or younger can tryout and the club’s ’94 girls team also has openings available.
The ’93 boys team (U15) has spots available for interested boys or girls. Finally, there are also a few openings on both the Kernow Storm U16 and U19 boys’ teams.
Tryouts for these teams will be held from July 2-10 at the Ennis High soccer practice field. For more information, please visit www.stormfc.net. You may also call 254-220-3284 or 972-768-6054.

City championship team pictures requested

Any Ennis Little League or Ennis Girls League team that wins a 2007 city championship is urged to submit a team photo with a caption of player names to the Ennis Daily News. Also include the opponent and score of the championship game.

MAYB basketball
tournament
coming up

On July 20-22 in Dallas/Ft. Worth, there will be a MAYB basketball tournament for boys and girls in grades 3-12. There is a five-game guarantee and the signup deadline is June 29. For more information, call the National Office at 316-284-0354 or email mayb@mayb.com.
