Ennis native takes over Wylie baseball

Ennis native Dustin A. Toth has been named Wylie ISD head varsity baseball coach for the 2007-08 season after working for the 9-5A school for the past three years.
Dustin attended St. John through his sophomore year, when he helped Crusader baseball finish as state runner-up. He transferred to Ennis High as a junior and played two seasons for Lion baseball. After graduating in 1999, Toth received an academic baseball scholarship to Eastfield Jr. College in Mesquite where he played two seasons. In 2001, the team won the NJCA World Series in Batavia, NY as Dustin was named an Academic All-American. Toth graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M in 2004 and will receive his masters degree this summer. Dustin’s wife is formerly Taren Collard, also of Ennis. She is a second-grade teacher at Tibbials Elementary in Wylie and the JV Cheerleading sponsor. Dustin is the son of George Jr. and Adina Toth, as well as the son-in-law of Mike and Cherie Collard of Ennis. His grandparents, all of which are from Ennis, include Dorothy Toupal, the late Emil Toupal along with George Sr. and Anna Lee Toth.
