Around Town – Free EISD Physicals at ERMC, Jewelry Sale, Ellis Co. Republican Women, Picnic with a Park Ranger, Library Pet Parade, Quilt Guild Meets


FREE EISD PHYSICALS: Free Ennis ISD Sports & Ennis High School Marching Band Physicals are being offered at Ennis Regional Medical Center, 2201 W. Lampasas, Ennis, TX 75119. All 7th, 9th and 11th grade Ennis ISD athletes and marching band students are now required to have a UIL approved sports physical. All paperwork must be completed PRIOR to arriving at the physicals. Boys physicals are set for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, May 6. Girls physicals are scheduled for between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 7. For more information call 1-855-875-ERMC (3762). JEWELRY AND ACCESSORY SALE: Masquerade Marketplace’s $5 Jewelry and Accessories Sale will take place May 1-3 in the main lobby of Baylor, Scott & White-Waxahachie. The times for Wed., May 1 are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thurs. May 2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Fri., May 3, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.: ELLIS CO. REPUBLICAN WOMEN COLLECTING FOR SERVICE MEMBERS: The Ellis County Republican Women are celebrating our military heroes with a Christmas in July Care Package Program. We honor our servicemen and women all year long. Therefore, please consider grabbing a little something extra next time you are at the store, such as: nonperishable food items, hard candy, salty snacks, lip balms, flavor packets for water, batteries, and little fun stocking stuffer items such as dice, playing cards and dominoes. Items can be dropped off during office hours at Martinez & Flemins, P.L.L.C. located at 107 Kaufman St., Waxahachie. PICNIC WITH A PARK RANGER: U.S. Army Corps at Bardwell Lake will host Picnic With a Park Ranger: Birds of Barwell, on Saturday, May 25 at 12:30 p.m. at High View Park, 262 High View Park Rd., Ennis. Bring your lunch (and water) and come spend an hour with Park Ranger Stephanie at Bardwell Lake. Ranger Stephanie will talk about various parts of Bardwell, as well as general history and fun facts about creatures you can see at the lake. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY PET PARADE: The Friends of the Ennis Public Library will host their 5th annual Pet Parade on Saturday, May 11 at the Ennis Public Library. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and the event begins at 11 a.m. Come parade your pet (costumes optional). The event is free, no library card required, open to all ages and all pets are welcome. CORSICANA QUILT GUILD: Corsicana Quilt Guild meets the first Monday of each month at the Church of Christ at Westhill, 2300 Hwy 22 W., Corsicana.
