Your credit card is headed for compromise

Brian Sanders works for the Secret Service’s Electronic Crime Task Force. He made a promise to those at a

cyber security luncheon in Ennis last Thursday.

“I hate to tell you, as far as your credit cards are concerned, it’s not a matter of ‘if,’ but ‘when.’ You will be

compromised. It’s just a matter of time. It’s not your fault. You didn’t do anything wrong. It’s just the nature of

the financial infrastructure and the way it works right now. It’s relatively easy for the criminals to get into point

of sale terminals, small business servers, and even large business servers,” he said.

Over the course of 45 minutes, Sanders proved his statement as he described the myriad ways cyber thieves

access your personal information and what they do with it.
