Chamber to host JP forum

Five candidates for the Justice of the Peace position in Precinct 1 will appear at the Ennis Chamber of Commerce on Thursday evening, Feb. 8. The venue will begin informally at 6:30 p.m. with a meet-and-greet with those running for office. A question and answer session follows at 7 p.m. and will run from 60-90 minutes. The forum is a month before the March 6 Republican primary. Joyce Lindauer, of Ennis, is the incumbent. She was named by County Judge Carol Bush to fill the remainder of the term for the retired Bill Woody. The office is located at the Ellis County Sub-Courthouse at 207 N. Sonoma Trail, east of I-45 in Ennis. Other candidates are Tommy Aguilar, of Bardwell, and three from Ennis, Cynthia Billingsley, Chris Macon and Randy Owen.
