Church answers call for aid in ice

The city of Ennis worked together with the First United Methodist Church on Sunday night to offer shelter to travelers stranded on Interstate 45 by icy weather.

Steve Holston, pastor of the Ennis First United Methodist Church, said law enforcement officials shut down parts of Interstate 45 on Sunday night, and asked them to open their doors for those with nowhere else to go.
