City budget should leave tax rate unchanged

Ennis officials have laid out the plan for adopting the 2013-2014 budget in the coming months, with a final vote set Sept. 16.

Much of the discussion and decision-making behind the adoption of the budget won’t begin in earnest until August, but commissioners and City Manager Steve Howerton have set up their annual budget workshop July 16. At that session, the officials pore over the budget document, considering the individual expenditures by department.
