City pay increases begin with new budget

Ennis begins its new budget cycle this week, bringing 2-percent employee raises and increased tax revenues to city operations without increasing tax rates.

The city’s $0.695 per $100 value tax rate remains the same after its latest $0.015-decrease in 2008. Increased appraisals and tax abatement roll-offs are behind a projected 1.63-percent revenue boost.
