Around Town – City Offices Closed-First Presbyterian Church Holy Week – Easter Garage Giveaway


City Offices to Close – No Refuse Collection
The offices of the City of Ennis will be closed for Good Friday on Friday, April 19, 2019. Garbage collection routes will not be run on Friday. The regular garbage collection schedule will resume and City offices will reopen on Monday, April 22, 2019. Holy Week Schedule at First Presbyterian Church-Maundy Thursday, April 18, worship will begin at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Readers will narrate some of the key events of Holy Week from the perspective of the characters involved. The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be shared around tables. On Good Friday, April 19, the beautiful film The Passion According to Saint Luke will be shown in the Fellowship Hall at 7 p.m. The film is just under one hour. We will celebrate Easter, April 21, with worship that begins at 8 a.m. After worship, the men of the church will serve breakfast in Clarke Hall. All are welcome! You are invited to come and journey together with Jesus and his followers through death to new life. The First Presbyterian Church is located at 210 N. First Ever Easter Garage Giveaway-The First Ever Easter Garage Giveaway will be held downtown in the EISD Central Office parking lot, 303 W. Knox St., on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will be gently used clothing, appliances, furniture, home decor, new and used items and much more. There will also be free food and drinks. If you have any items to donate, please bring them downtown. Set up will begin at 7 a.m. For more information, call 214-200-5542.
