City to look at tax increment financing; first meeting with new city manager in town

Monday, the Ennis City Commission will get a chance to look at tax increment financing as an option for the downtown district.

A project that has long been in the works, the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone would allot certain future property taxes in downtown to special uses such as infrastructure like water and sewer. A public hearing will take place for the TIRZ, and the Economic Development Corporation budget amendment of $35,000 to go with it.
