Library looking to better utilize space

The Ennis Public Library is looking to make a change to its Learning Center to free up some space.

According to Children’s Librarian Kayti Kennedy, the decision comes after she was forced to turn away

some kids during the library’s Summer Reading Program. The other reason for the space change,

Kennedy says the library is only reaching around 26 percent of the community’s elementary aged


“There are a myriad of reasons why kids don’t participate,” she said. “But one I hear the most often is

there is just not enough space. And that is very true. Last summer, I had to turn some kids away from a

show because of seating constraints; it broke by heart.”
