Obstetrics services at Ennis Regional Medical Center to end

Ennis Regional Medical Center today announced that it will soon discontinue obstetrics services.

In a press release, ERMC said the change will be effective Thursday, Feb. 18.

Our hospital has always taken pride in providing mothers and their newborns with quality medical and nursing care,” said Alan Daugherty, CEO of Ennis Regional Medical Center. “However, recent challenges related to recruiting and retaining pediatricians who can cover our newborn nursery have led us to make the difficult decision to discontinue our obstetrics services.”
