What a little movie can do

Last weekend’s Movie Night at the Park, hosted by First United Methodist Church’s Word Class at Ennis Veterans Park, was a hit, drawing more than 60 members and guests for what is planned as an annual event, raising funds for FUMC youth group activities.

On Saturday, young and old alike watched Sony Pictures’ When the Game Stands Tall, an inspirational sports film, while enjoying popcorn and other refreshments. Released last year, the movie that stars Jim Caviezel and Laura Dern tells the true story of football coach Bob Ladouceur, whose faith and dedication led the De La Salle High School Spartans to a record-breaking winning streak.
