Commissioners, Judge weigh full docket Bush nears end of 10-year tenure

A lengthy agenda awaited the Commissioners and the County Judge on Tuesday, Dec. 18, starting with consideration for a plan to improve area roadways. That item, a Thoroughfare Plan, was introduced with the need to increase the budget for the project to allow for studying the routing of future roads and current improvements in the county. This budget addition was to improve public input into the project through public meetings and booths at public events in order to increase awareness of the plans. Another item considered by the court was to approve an upgrade of the curbing at the county elections office, primarily to make them compliant to the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Commissioners approved the improvement. Several other concrete curb repairs were also presented and approved. The Commissioners approved insurance policies for the two County Courts at Law in lieu of bonds, which the leadership agreed was needed.
