Corsicana police officer placed on leave after DWI


According to the Corsicana Daily Sun, a Corsicana police officer was placed on paid administrative leave after he was arrested by police for driving while intoxicated, said Robert Johnson Chief of Police. Cpl. Gary Scott Dechaume, 50, was driving around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday when another driver called 911 and reported a reckless driver in a late model white pickup on northbound Highway 287. A Corsicana police officer located and stopped Dechaume in the 1300 block of Hwy 287. The arresting officer conducted a field sobriety test and placed Dechaume in custody for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
