County considering scofflaw measure

The Ellis County Commissioners Court will decide whether or not to withhold car registration from habitual toll violators during their 10 a.m. Monday meeting.

An interlocal agreement between Ellis County and the North Texas Tollway Authority is on the agenda for Monday’s meeting, which would authorize the county tax assessor to refuse to register or renew the registration of a motor vehicle if the owner of that vehicle is determined to be a habitual toll violator according to the Texas Transportation Code.
