County gathers hazmat info

Phil Bankerphil@ennisdailynews.com

Ellis County Emergency Management is working with the Texas A&M Transportation Institute to find out exactly what’s heading down local roads, rails and pipes.

Emergency Management Coordinator Joe Stewart said researchers along with volunteer observers will begin this month observing traffic on major highways throughout the county, including Interstates 35 and 45, U.S. Highway 287, U.S. Highway 67 near Midlothian and State Highway 34 between Ennis and Italy.
