County election positions showing head to head races

After nine years at the bench, Republican Carol Bush is out as County Judge. Red Oak’s Todd Little (R) and Palmer’s J.R. Phillips (D) are the finalist to be the highest elected official in Ellis County. Two other county offices – District Clerk and County Clerk, have races. Melanie Reed (R) and Shawn-Dana Dalton (D) are running against each for the district gig while Krystal Valdez ® and Vicki Alcala Spaniel (D) are campaigning for the county office. All four Justice of the Peace positions have two people bidding for the role, including JP of Precinct 1.
