County commissioners met behind closed doors at the beginning of Friday’s Commissioners Court meeting for an hour and a half to discuss county courthouse security as well as its contract with Dunbar Armored Inc., county officials said.

On the executive session part of the agenda, the security item appeared as “consultation to deliberate the deployment, or specific occasions for implementation, of security personnel or devices.”

In open session, County Judge Carol Bush called the county courthouse item that appeared on the agenda, a “no-action item,” and it was skipped over. The same item was the sole purpose for a cancelled workshop for commissioners, which was scheduled for Tuesday morning before nixed at the last minute.
