Macon takes office as JP


Retiring after 28 years of service as a firefighter with the Garland Fire Department, Chris Macon was sworn in and began working on Jan. 1 as the newly elected Justice of the Peace of Precinct 1. He follows attorney Joyce Lindauer, who was appointed to fill the remainder of Judge Bill Woody’s term, approximately ten months. County Judge Carol Bush, the highest elected official in Ellis County, selected Lindauer, of Ennis. The iconic Historical Ellis County Courthouse in Waxahachie was the site when Judge Jackie Miller, Jr., the JP in Pct 2, swore Macon in, making the moment extra special for the current Telico resident was having longtime friend Judge Woody in attendance.
