Red Oak Purse Snatcher Identified

Red Oak, TX – On Dec. 20, 2018, the Red Oak Police Department released a video of a purse-snatcher that they were attempting to identify. The suspect subsequently attempted to use one of the victim’s credit cards at the Target & DTLR in the Wheatland Town Crossing shopping center in Dallas. Through additional investigation, the suspect in the video has now been identified as Harvey Glenn Sowels II, an African-American male born on Aug. 31, 1993. On Dec. 27, 2018, the Red Oak Police Department Criminal Investigative Division obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. Sowels for his alleged involvement in the offense(s) of Theft of Property <$2500 with two previous convictions.
