Crashes continue on U.S. 287

Phil Banker, phil@ennisdailynews.com

Police Chief John Erisman said there’s not much more the Ennis Police Department can do to make U.S. Highway 287 safe after two crashes occurred within four minutes of each other on Thursday.

The crashes reflect the ongoing danger on U.S. Highway 287, as one of them occurred at the same location where local nurse Subrina Knight lost her life Sunday night.

The first crash occurred at approximately 12:36 p.m. Thursday afternoon near the intersection of U. S. 287 and Oak Grove Road, Erisman said.
