Crime prevention video solves second case

Surveillance cameras from a store and crime prevention videos are proving to be a useful tool in not only solving crime for the Ennis Police Department, but also deterring individuals from committing future acts. It’s still summer, and it’s still hot outside and for the second time this year, a video posted by Crime Prevention Specialist Roger Cole, inspired a person to return a box fan to Wal-Mart after they took it when it was left unattended at the Red Box machine outside the store. Earlier this year, during a similar incident, a Wal-Mart customer unintentionally dropped their wallet near the exit of the store. The wallet, however, was not returned to customer service, instead picked up by a man, as seen in store surveillance video, walking out of the store with the wallet. Cole’s videos are proving to be crime stoppers, as is the motto “see something, say something.” The wallet was eventually returned to the police department and the owner was notified.
