District throws out ballot in board race

The election is still roughly two months away, but the battle for Place 6 on the Ennis ISD school board is already heating up.

Ennis ISD officials have thrown out a ballot drawn up on March 7 and are planning a second drawing for ballot placement at 9 a.m. March 18 after candidate Terri Barton complained she wasn’t notified of the drawing. However, candidate Julie Pierce, who drew first position on the first ballot, said a re-draw is unfair.
