DPS searching for escaped Fort Worth sex offender

GARLAND, TEXAS – A man escaped from a Fort Worth halfway house shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday morning. Anyone with information on this violent sexual predator’s whereabouts is urged to contact authorities immediately.

Charles Raymond Sprague, a civilly committed sex offender, absconded from 600 North Henderson in Fort Worth and cut off the 24-hour electronic tracking device that he is required to wear by law. He has an extensive criminal history including aggravated kidnapping.

Sprague, 44, is a Native American, 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 240 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, dark jeans, white sneakers and carrying a clear backpack.

Anyone with information about Sprague’s location should immediately call 911, local police or DPS Communications at 214-861-2040 or 817-657-1999.

Do not attempt to apprehend dangerous fugitives.
