Drivers warned to watch road conditions

Nick Todaro, nick@ennisdailynews.com

The National Weather Service has again issued traffic alerts as cold rain falls around Ellis County.

The winter weather advisory calls for a wintry mix of freezing drizzle and possible snow across North and Central Texas until 6 p.m. Light ice accumulations are possible and can make travel “treacherous,” especially in areas with lower traffic counts where cold overnight temperatures will encourage ice formation.

“As temperatures fall into the 20s Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, any residual water or moisture on roadways will refreeze, causing additional icy conditions Wednesday morning,” the NWS said in its advisory.
