EAD: 61,000 notices mailed, more on the way


Ellis County residents who have experienced an increase in excess of $1,000 in property value or who live in Ennis and Red Oak ISDs will soon receive an appraisal notice from the Ellis Appraisal District. According to an Ellis Appraisal District (EAD) release, about 61,000 notices dated April 2 have been mailed out to residents. Chief Appraiser Kathy Rodrigue stated this is the first round of appraisals sent out to residents and business owners. Rodriguez stated there are 85,002 properties located in Ellis County. Over the past year, the county has increased in the number of properties due to new construction.
