Election set for Saturday

Polls for three races for city and school seats are set to open at 7 a.m. Saturday.

A single city seat, Ward 3, is up for grabs this year between incumbent Jess Haupt and challenger Ken Hackney.

Voters in Ward 3 can cast their ballots from 7 a.m. To 7 p.m. Saturday at Austin Elementary, according to City Secretary Donna Batchler.

Ennis ISD will have Places 1 and 2 in contention on Saturday, currently held by outgoing trustees Mack Boyd and Miles Strunc.

Rob Brown and Kelly McManus are running for Place 1, while Roger Peden and Jennifer Haden will vie for Place 2.

Polls for the school board election will open at 7 a.m. At Austin Elementary for voters in Ward 3, while all other voters can vote at the Ennis ISD Administration Building. Polls close at 7 p.m.
