An Ennis man has been charged with aggravated assault against a public servant after he violently head butted an Ennis police officer while in custody in the city’s jail. According to reports two Ennis officers while on patrol observed Raul Arrez, 25, acting oddly, and walking in a roadway with an unsteady balance. While talking to Arrez they noticed he had bloodshot eyes and observed a strong smell of alcohol. Reports show that Arrez was taken into custody for public intoxication on July 28 at 10:41 p.m. Video shows Arrez being booked into the jail, and while being handcuffed, questioned and put in a cell head butting officer Aaron Palmer, causing Palmer to lose his balance for a short time.
