Ennis offering free summer meals – Available for kids, teens at four areas

Ennis ISD is again participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), which is federally funded for students 18 and under who may not have access to breakfast and/or lunch during the week. According to EISD communications, these free meals will be provided at four locations around the city. The community service is part of the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Summer food program. The healthy meals is prepared and served by Sodexo, Inc., the same company that provides meal programs for schools in the district. The national states the need for nutritious meals when school is not in session is real, especially for those whose parent(s) or guardian works during the day.
