Ennis resident wins a brand new car – Runnin’ Free Ranch sold charity ticket

Sometimes when someone else gets to dive into winning waters, bystanders get blessed by the splash. Runnin’ Free Ranch, a local nonprofit organization, is the benefactor of such good fortune. For two years running, Ennis’ RFR has been a part of a community support fundraiser sponsored by Toyota and Honda of Denton. It required the ranch to sell two-dollar raffle tickets with someone winning a new car or truck provided their name was drawn. The kickback was the bonus. All of the proceeds would be given to the winning seller, a non-profit group. “We believe God brought us this opportunity and greatly appreciate the heart and attitude of Toyota and Honda of Denton to give back to the Metroplex community,” said Kenneth “D.J.” Dojahn, co-owner of Runnin’ Free Ranch. Amazingly, the drawing was held and the winning ticket had been sold to Phyllis Stewart, an Ennis resident. She chose a Rav4 Toyota in which Toyota of Denton paid tax, title and license and added a lifetime warranty.
