Ennisite charged with selling crack

An Ennis man allegedly selling crack in front of the Kwick-Pick Grocery on N. Kaufman Street reportedly ran from police Wednesday after giving them his ID.

Deontrey Shannon, 29, was standing in front of the store around 1:30 p.m. when Ennis Police Department Det. Sgt. Mike Hopson, who was in the area, saw him talking to several people who walked up. The detective noticed what the thought was a series of exchanges.
