Ferris Fire Chief Tim Birdwell said an accidental fire that displaced three people, including a husband and wife, was a complete loss on Tuesday.

“They lost everything,” he said. “It’s just really sad when we see something like that happen.”

The home’s rural location at 499 Wester Rd. in Ferris could have been part of the reason the house and its contents, a total estimated monetary value of $80,000, were all lost.
“When we got out there, the fire was fully involved,” Birdwell said. “And it was tough because the nearest fire hydrant out there was about a mile away.”
