Friends of the EPL hold annual Pet Parade

Saturday, the Friends of the Library hosted their annual Pet Parade at the Ennis Public Library. An estimated 20 dogs, one lizard and their owners attended this year’s parade. Crowds have been as large as 40 dogs in the past, but the heat seemingly drew pet owners away this year. The parade is usually held in either the first or second weekends of May, but due to starting late on preparations this year, as well as scheduling conflicts, the event was pushed back. Larry Candy, a member of the Friends of the Library, said that the parade will be moved back to May next year in the hopes of increasing attendance.
