EHS honor student Amanda Burns will represent Ennis and all of Texas on an ecological excursion to New Zealand this summer, and supporters are holding a barbecue fundraiser Friday to help put together backing for the trip.
The event, slated from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First State Bank in Ennis, will also feature raffle drawings for two cowboy cookers Burns built. Cost for the food is $5 per plate and includes a chopped beef sandwich, chips, pickles and a soda, and donations will also be accepted.
