GAKAC Christmas event forging ahead

Staff report, editor@ennsidailynews.com

Give a Kid a Chance head Marty Nelson said today’s second Christmas celebration is still on today at San Jacinto Auditorium.

“Rain or shine, sleet or snow, the show must go on,” Nelson said late Friday. “We’re finished setting up San Jacinto Auditorium, the roads are clear and we’re excited about the Christmas celebration.”

Doors open at 1 p.m. today and performances by GO! Dance the New Hope Church Dickens carolers begin at 1:30 p.m.

“The performances are really well done, you don’t want to miss it,” Nelson said.

Free photos with Santa Claus will be available thanks to Bruce Lattimer Photography. Nelson is also encouraging those who attend to bring an extra coat to donate toward the Ennis High School cheerleaders’ annual coat drive.
