Highlighting businesses that keep downtown Ennis strong

Holding strong to relationships and serving the needs of people, Wester Insurance is deepening its roots in Ennis. Founded in Palmer in 1973 by James Wester, the business eventually was transferred to Jerry Wester in 1998. He led the company until 2014 when Joel Hernandez, the current owner, purchased it before moving its offices to downtown Ennis in December of 2016. “James was my father-in-law’s father,” said Joel, who – next month, will celebrate two years in the business’ new digs at 116 N. Dallas, next door to the Pop Top Coffee Shop. “We moved here because, well, we lived here,” he explained. “We go to church here, our friends live here, our kids go to Ennis schools and a lot of our clientele are from Ennis.” Prior to insurance, Hernandez worked in advertising for a Dallas firm. “We were looking for a change when this opportunity came up. So we relocated to Ennis and love it,” he said. Read stories like this and more in your latest edition of The Ennis News. Be informed, subscribe today!
